6 Month Stats

Stats: Jocelyn- Weight: 15 lbs 4 oz (45%!!!)
Length: 25 3/4 in long (50%!!!!)
Gabbie- Weight: 14 lbs 13 oz (25%!!!)
Length: 24 3/4 in long (15%!!!)

The girls had their 6 month appt on Tuesday and as you can see from the pic above, the girls were shocked at their stats! They are actually ON THE GROWTH CHART NOW!!!! I thought they wouldn't be on the chart until they were like 5 years old or something! Needless to say, we are SO grateful that the Lord has allowed them to grow and develop so well. They haven't even been sick one time since they were born (not even a little cold!) We can't believe how much bigger they are from when they were born. It's almost unbelievable to go back and look at pictures and see how small they were. I put a few pics below so you can see the difference!

Shane holding the girls when they were a week old. Gabbie weighed 3 lbs 8 oz here and Jocelyn was 4 lbs 1 oz . They were TINY!!!

I love these two pictures! The girls were 1 month old in these pics and weighed a little under 5 pounds each. ( I remember thinking they were HUGE compared to when we brought them home from the hospital!)

Breastpump Search

OK, this is very random...but, for the past several months I have been using Amy's medela breastpump. Well, as most of you know, Amy is having her daughter in a month and will be needing to use her breastpump. We could both use it (with out own attachments of course :) while we are here together but she may be traveling for Thanksgiving and we are going to be traveling at Christmas and I will be needing a pump during those times. SOOOOO, I say all that to say...I am putting this random request on here to see if anyone has a medela breastpump that I could use from the end of October through the beginning of March (I plan on breastfeeding for a year....but we shall see :). If you have one I can use or know someone who does, please let me know. THANKS!

Future Hoopsters

Our good friend, Alex Paige, got these pink Michael Jordan outfits for the girls (thanks Alex!). We decided to have another photo shoot because they were way too cute! Jordan would be proud....they are definitly future hoopsters :)

Gabbie (we decided to spell it with an "ie" instead of a "y") and her cute little smile

Jocelyn has her "game face" on

Gabbie striking a pose for the camera

Jocelyn thinks everything is SO funny. She laughs constantly (except when she has her game face on, of course)

Aunt Julia got these adorable hats for the girls. They wore them yesterday for the first time. They thought they were way cool :) All the pics were so cute I had to put them all on here!

Could my twins look ANY different from each other??? :)

Gran is visiting this weekend and taking the girls on LOTS of walks

Please Pray....

Hello friends. I am in desperate need of your prayers. I have been battling insomnia now for over 2 months and it just keeps getting worse (I didn't think that was possible, but it is). I have tried all kinds of medicine and other recommended "remedies" and nothing has helped. This is taking a huge toll on me in every way. I have not wrote about it because I have been hoping that it would get better but it hasn't. I am struggling big time just to survive. I thought I was sleep-deprived after the girls were born, but that was nothing compared to now. Atleast then I could sleep in between feeding them, etc. Now, I am unable to sleep at all...night or day. So, I am asking you to fight for me in prayer through this battle. I am desperate. Thank you.

Pics

Here are the girls chatting with one another in their "Johnny" and "Jenny" (who knew there was a Jenny Jump-Up??).

Amy put some hats on the girls the other day while I was working and took some pics. How CUTE is Gabby??!?

Jocelyn chillin in the "Jenny"

Jocelyn is so weird about taking a bottle. A while back she would only take the bottle if whoever was feeding her strapped my twin pink nursing pillow on and fed her in the same position I do. Now, she has decided that she will only take a bottle if you hold her like this and walk around the house the whole time you are feeding her. She is going to have to get over that quick! Shane looks like he is having a good ole time :)

Our precious Gabby....This is a monumental pic because she doesn't like to sleep very much!

My Treasure Box

Yes, this a freezer. Yes, it is completely full of frozen breastmilk. I finally took a picture of it and had to post it because I am realizing more and more how infinitely valuable this milk is (ok....that was a little bit of an exaggeration...but you get the point :) How did I get all this milk?? Well, the girls were born premature and were not able to breastfeed in the beginning so I had to pump to establish my milk supply....AND oh did I pump!! My lactation nurse (hey Marcia! Miss you!) was overhwhelmed with how much milk I was producing (by like the 2nd or 3rd week I was making enough milk for quads). I thought this was normal for everyone, but I realized that it was not :) Anyways....long story short, I had to continue pumping for the first 2 1/2 months while I was slowly teaching the girls to breastfeed. Then I had to "ween" myself off the pump (For those who understand what I mean, this was an extremely hard process...for those of you who don't know what I mean, I'll spare you the details :) ANYWAYS, I ended up with an ENTIRE deep freezer full of milk. This has come in quite handy when I have needed to give them a bottle b/c I have PLENTLY of milk (that is an understatement). SO, I have named it my Treasure Box b/c I realize how valuable this "liquid gold" really is. AND if anyone needs some, feel free to give me a call. I don't mind sharing the treasure! (most of you will probably think that is way weird! :)

Who Needs a Gym???

Shane and I have a new workout plan....take 3 kids on a walk all at the same time! Gabby prefers being "on" you and Jocelyn and Jayden chill in the stoller. These outings usually take place right after dinner because this seems to be when everyone agress to "let's be really fussy right now all at the same time" :) Needless to say, we are out of breath upon returning from these adventures. Who needs a gym? This is a total body workout!

First Family Restaurant Outing

On Monday we decided to take a chance and go eat dinner "out" for the first time as a family. The girls are usually out of control around dinner time so we knew we were taking a chance for disaster :) Where did we go??? Chick-Fil-A of course. It's kind of middle ground....not a sit-down really nice restaurant, but not fast food either (at least in my opinion)..not to mention that I LOVE Chick-Fil-A... PLUS on Monday if you wore any sporting attire, you received free chicken strips (who could pass that up?!). SO, we loaded the girls up and headed to Chick-Fil-A. Surprisingly, they did AMAZING...not a peep from either one of them. This was definitely a small miracle! I think they were just in shock being around so many people and in an unfamiliar place. They just sat there with blank looks on their faces the whole time. It was quite humorous actually. Needless to say, Shane and I (along with our Kiwi friend Josh) were actually able to take our time eating and enjoy our dinner..(.that doesn't EVER happen at home). Maybe we should go to Chick-Fil-A EVERYDAY for dinner! Here are a few pics of our first family restaurant outing. I think the "hand-held" props are so funny. ...

Sharing the Load...

I truly believe that I WOULD NOT make it through every day if I didn't live with Amy. She is a BLESSING from the LORD! I can see His SOVEREIGN hand in having us live together. She helps carry my load...or rather my double load... every single day. I am so thankful to have a friend with me down here and for her willingness to help and serve me so much. THANKS AMY!! No words can describe how grateful I am for you!!! I feel as though we run a daycare...except that it's just our kids :) When Journey (Amy's baby girl that is due next month) arrives, we'll be adding one more to the daycare roster. .. :)

Gabby's new favorite place to sit is on top of Journey (pic above)

Here I am hanging with the kiddos.I wish I had a couple of those "go-go gadget arms". They would come in very handy :)

Paw Paw & Maw Maw

This past weekend my parents came down to visit. They had not seen the girls since they were two and a half months old. They couldn't believe how much they had grown and changed. The girls had so much fun playing with their MawMaw and PawPaw!

I love Johnny

So, whoever created the Johnny Jump-Up thingy is my new best friend! Trying to handle two babies at once can get a little overwhelming at times and I am always looking for new fun things to introduce them to and this past week...it was "Johnny"! The girls love it ...Jocelyn likes to jump...Gabby likes to "eat" it :)

Let's Pretend...

So, the other day I decided to pretend that we lived somewhere that had cold weather and snowed alot so that the girls could wear these adorable hats that were knit for them. We visited this cold place for a few minutes so we could get some cute pics and then it was back to reality....HOT Orlando...where I pour sweat just walking to the mailbox... :)
