Stewart Reunion 2013

A couple of weeks ago we headed over to Jay for the Stewart Reunion (my dad's side). Marty and Diane (my cousins) host it at their house- which is AWESOME b/c they have a pool and the kiddos LOOOOOOOVE the pool!

Kaylea showing off her cannonball skills...
Landon showing off his flying skills :)
Gabbie showing off her diving skills....

Jocie and her AWESOME cannonball form....
Annnnnd there he is again....DAD.OF.THE.YEAR. swimmin' it up :)))))

What a BEAUTIFUL spread!! YUMMO.
There's just something about reunions and deserts.....just doesn't get much better than that :)
The 3 amigo brothers (my cousins) PeeWee, Casey, and Chad. The smiling ability progressed from left to right :)
 After dinner swimming continues....

My brother, Douglas, and my cousin, Chad (in the pic a few up) grew up spending every waking and sleeping moment together. They were complete terrors :) Well, here ya go....here is Landon, my brother's son and Luke, Chad's son. The picture says it all :)
My dad and Uncle J.B.- he was married to Aunt Sue- one of my dad's sisters who is deceased. I kid you not- Uncle J.B. has not changed a BIT since I can remember him. He looks exactly the same as I remember him as a kid. Man, I hope I age that well!!
My mom (far right) with Brenda, Diane, and Gail. Mom is actually their Aunt but they are all very close in age- so they are more like cousins.

I wish I had taken more pics of everyone- but I misplaced my camera for a bit and by the time I found it again- everyone had scattered. It's always super fun to see everyone!!

Ashton & Landon's Birthday Party!!

Ashton & Landon celebrated their birthdays together a few weeks back at the splash pad in Brewton.

Here are the birthday boys along with cousin Sawyer

Tractor & Four-wheeler, naturally ;)

 Cake time!

Family pic along with Sawyer and Kaylea
Landon is OBSESSED with tractors and trucks...atleast you ALWAYS know what to get him!!

Black Family Reunion 2013!!

Well, this was supposed to be the post right after the White Water post, but it is SOOOOOOOO long, it's taken me forever to upload all the pics and edit it! REPEAT.....this post is LOOOOOONG and has LOOOOOOOOTS of pics....cause that's how the Black Reunion rolls....3 straight days of fun, FOOD, and Fam!

Upon arriving at Gigi and HayHay's, the first order of events is .......a TEA PARTY, of course!!
That evening we crashed a going away party for our friend Alex who's moving from Habersham back to Birmingham. The daddy and Uncle Bryan got a workout fo sho :)

I think Uncle Bryan just tapped out :)

On Friday night the reunion begins with everyone gathering for heavy appetizers and desserts- it's usually at one of the Aunts' patio's, but since it rained this year, it was relocated to the church fellowship hall.....and sadly, I forgot my camera at Gigi's house....thus NO pics of the first event of the weekend :(

However, I made up for it with the rest of the weekend....

On Saturday morning, the golfers head out to the course for the Annual Black Golf Tourny while the rest of us and the kiddos head over to cousin Mary's house for swimming and lunch.....

LOTS of girl cousins!

Aunt Julia is THE.BEST.EVER.
They all had to do the "dip your head in the water and flip your head back really fast creating the 'George Washington' hair-do" pic....HILARIOUS!
That evening it's time to head to Clarkesville Elementary School for  dinner and the Black Olympics. Of course, before dinner, the kiddos get all disgusting and sweaty in the gym (along with Uncle Bryan).....

And then the family pictures take place....
Aunt Margaret's clan....
Aunt Barbara's clan....
Aunt Beverly's clan....
Uncle Jerry's (passed away a about 4 years ago) clan....
Aunt Carolyn's clan....
Uncle Jimmy's clan...
Our clan....

Here's all the brothers and sisters minus Shane's dad and Uncle Jerry....

Here's the brothers and sisters with their spouses....

The "Grands"....
Their "best" side :)
The "Great-Grands".....

Three sets of twinsies in the fan.....and all girlies :)
Next is the presentation of the golf tourney winners.....
Way to go boys.....
Annnnnnd then the WORST team gets the honor of being presented "The Cow-Patty" which has been passed down for YEARS.....Hilarious!

Annnnnd then it's time to get serious.....

the Black's don't play around with their food....this stuff is DIVINE.

Gabbie ate THREE...YES, T.H.R.E.E chicken legs....that girl LOVES her some chicken legs!
And the desert table never disappoints....
I chose to go with the "sampler" platter....Def. a fantastic choice....

After dinner it's GAME time....The Black Family Olympics....Everyone is divided up into 4 teams. The teams stay the same from year to year....as do the RIVALRIES....to say this family is competitive is a MAJOR understatement....
Here are the events......
Gigi and Gabs anxiously awaiting the for the Games to being.....
First Up: FACE the COOKIE. Goal: start with cookie on your forehead and then WITHOUT USING YOUR HANDS- get the cookie into your mouth. Time limit: ONE minute.  Do not be deceived, people. This game is crazy hard.

Mary....gettin' close....
sooooooooo close.....
Whoop whoop Jeremy!
Last year I OWNED this game. I was determined to again this year.....I mean, look at my stance....

I felt it....it was so close....just one more inch....and then, with ONE wrong crunch of my nose and cheek....the cookie fell off and crashed onto the floor. SAD DAY.
Kelly looks like she is dead asleep....with a cookie patch on her eye :)
Bryan worked it. Dang him.
Jocie was SO excited to get to play....however she MIGHT have forgotten the "no hands" rule :)
Shane's turn....and yes, please notice- sugar cookie for him....cause we all know he can't do the chocolate chip....that would NOT be pretty...
Aunt Carolyn just kept moving her head to the left and then back upright and then to the left and then back up right.....as the cookie moved NONE. Probably not the best strategy :)

Game #2: Toss the Shoes. Goal: From the line, flip your shoes onto the table. Whatever team gets the most on the table wins. Time limit: ONE minute. Again- MUCH harder than you think!!

The kiddos were mesmerized by all these crazy, screaming "big people" playing the games :)

Game 3: Bocci Roll Goal: From the line roll bocci ball causing it to stop on one of 3 lines-each worth a diff amount of points.  Nine people on each team roll.

The kiddos got a turn as well....
Game 4: Over Under Goal: Each team lined up in a line. Each had a playground ball. The first one in line took it over their head, the next one took it under their legs and so on and so forth. The first team to go down and back twice wins. NO pics of this one, unfortunately, because we were all going at the same time. Trust me, it was funny.

However, NOT near as funny as the grand-finale game:
Game 5: Yarn Spoon Goal: Each team is lined up again. A spoon is tied to the end of a LONG piece of yarn. The first person in line has to take the spoon and yarn DOWN their shirt AND pants/shorts then the next person takes it UP their shorts/pants AND their short and so on and so forth. Each team has to go down the line and then back up the line pulling the spoon and yarn back out the same way it went in:) The team that does it the fastest wins. I'm dead serious....this is one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. HANDS DOWN.

Team members getting "prepared" for the spoon and yarn....
Annnnnd GO!!!

Oh.My.Goodness. So, last year Uncle Jimmy got the spoon "stuck" in his underwear and Aunt Linda Jean had to help him (i.e. almost totally undress him) to get it out. Welp.....it happened again this year. I'm pretty sure every single person pee's their pants laughing. SOOO funny.

I mean, everyone's modesty just goes out the window for the sake of winning....it.just.does.
Work it Linda Jean!!

I have had the privilege of being lined up in front of Uncle M.L. the past two years. A. He is HYSTERICAL B. I absolutely CANNOT think about what the spoon is touching before it touches my skin :)
hahahahahaha!! whatever it takes, people!

WAIT FOR IT....WAIT FOR IT......

Ummmm, you think Shane is READY?!?!? hahahahaha!
NO.WORDS.FOR.THIS.
TEAM WORK!!!
And the results are in!!!
Scott's Tots pulled if off by ONE point!!! Boooooooooooo

Uncle M.L. decided to take the "spoon" home with him as a souviner  :)

On Sunday morning, everyone gathers at Aunt Barbara's for Brunch, a Devotional, and to give hugs and kisses good-bye. Sadly, Gabs woke up with a massive migraine Sunday morning so I stayed home with her- thus no pics of the final segment of the weekend as well. Sad.

Thankfully, Gabbie started feeling better so while everyone else was at brunch, she decided to go into the garage and 'build a house" for her "birds" (some ceramic birds of Gigi's). This child is DE-TAILED, SUPER creative, and just slightly OCD :) (notice the symmetrical order of the items). I LOVE her imagination and she never ceases to amaze me with her ideas.

After everyone returned from brunch, Lance started going thru a GIGANTOR pile stuff (alot of things from way years past) that were stored in Gigi and HayHay's garage.....and before you know it....this is what happened :)))))
LOVE my sister-in-laws!
Jocie helping Uncle Lance pack up their truck....she loooooves her some Uncle Lance....

Another GREAT weekend with all the Blacks!! Already looking forward to next year's reunion!!
