Four-Year Check-Up

The girlies had their 4-year check-up a couple of weeks ago. We were SO not looking forward to this one because we knew what was coming....4 SHOTS EACH in their legs!! OUCH. They already are fearful of the doctor now (due to Jocie's teeth going through her chin last year and Gabbie having to be hospitalized from the stomach virus)....they just freak out when we mention the doctor and ESPECIALLY when they have to get shots. It's just SO sad! I waited until right before we had to leave to tell them where we were going. Of course Gabbie, my debater, assured me that they didn't need to go to the doctor because neither one of them were sick. I told her we were just going for a check-up. She then replied, "Oh, ok, if it's just a check-up then we won't have to get any shots, right momma??". SAD. We told them that if they were really brave and did well that we would take them to get ice cream afterwards. That pumped them up for a while....at least until the doctor came in :) All-in-all they actually did pretty well...I mean, don't get me wrong, they screamed bloody murder and fought us and the nurse with all their strength....but they actually recovered quicker than I had imagined they would. The ice cream promise helped big time :)

This appointment was crazy too because it is the first time EVER that they haven't weighed the same and been the same height. SERIOUSLY. Yes, I know, they are fraternal twins, but at every appointment they have had after they were born, they weighed the exact same and were the exact same height. NUTS!! Well, not anymore....
Jocelyn: 40 lbs 41 inches tall
Gabbie: 44 lbs 42 inches tall

Jocelyn is in the 75% for height and weight and Gabbie is in the 85% for height and weight. THAT IS CRAZY! They were SOOOO itty bitty when they were born and not even close to the growth chart. You would never know that now. SO thankful for healthy, happy, and "hollering" :) 4-year-old little girls!

It's that time of year again....

The girls have been asking "Is it time to go swimming yet??" for about two months now....like 10 times a day. For reals. I mean, it really did just hop from fall to summer with a half a day of winter in between here...gotta love this good Ol' Mobile weather :) My answer to them every time is "not yet...but almost!". Well, they got sick of hearing that I guess because the other day they were playing in their room together and then after a little bit they came into our room and made their point.... :))))
I mean....how can you resist these faces?!?!?
SOOOO, the daddy had to do something......

Hilarious!
Well, I guess that's one way to do it ..... :))

Needless to say....the sprinkler got the job done....at least for one day :)

The Campbell's Street Party!!

The Campbell's invited us to their street party a few weeks ago. No kids were allowed, but they kindly allowed us to bring our girlies anyways :) I mean, it's not like anyone would even know they were there since they are SO calm, quiet, and subdued :) ha!

A chef-friend of theirs catered the food and it was SUPER-DUPER yummy!
Here are the great host and hostess- Mike- I'm LOVIN' the arm on the hip look! It's the only way to really take a good pic :)
The awesome food and beautiful floral arrangements....

Gabs making herself comfortable :)
Everyone enjoying the amazing weather, great food, and awesome company!

The Reverend and Mrs. Moore ;)

These two were having a blast....mainly terrorizing the Campbell's poor dogs...yes, don't let those faces fool ya...they were up to no good :)
About 5 minutes after this pic was taken, they both simultaneously had an enormous meltdown....thus, signally us that it was time for our departure. I'm sure the rest of the party was awesome and probably much quieter (well, atleast more "kid-quieter"). Thanks to the Campbells for inviting us to our first ever street party!!

Azalea Trail 2012

Colleen and I ran the Azalea Trail 10K together this year. I think this was like the 7th Azalea Trail I have done and I did my best 10K time ever, so that was exciting. I definitely don't think I could have done it without Colleen pushing me so hard b/c I pretty much was DYING at the end of it :) SO, thanks Colleen!

Shane and the girls were near the finish line and here is Shane's attempt to get a pic of us....bless his heart....atleast he tried :) We are the ones on the far side....Colleen is in the purple tank and you can see my right leg and arm :)
SO happy it was over!
Me and the girlies :)
Colleen's hubby, Jason, also ran the 10K....way to go Jason!
The after party was great...FREE chick-fil-A sandwiches!! YES, I'll have two, thank you very much! The girls visited the balloon-making-clown-lady :)
Another fun-filled Azalea Trail day :)

Ready for a rainy day :)

"Wittle big-girl beds" to "Willy Biiiiiig big-girl beds"!!

About a year and a half ago we turned the girls cribs into toddler beds or in their words "wittle big-girl beds". When we did this I thought to myself..."geeeez, it will be years before they out grow these things"....

Well, a short year and half later it was already time! I couldn't believe they had grown so much and their toddler beds were just not enough room anymore :( We put it off long as we could and for their 4th birthday we got them their "willy biiiiiiig big-girl beds" :) We decided to just put the mattress and box spring on the floor for now until they get used to it so if they do fall off, it won't be a super big fall.

Here is Gabbie's willy biiiiig big-girl bed....with her "pinklebaby" waiting for her, of course :) The Gabster is really (I mean REALLY) into girlie, pretty, fru-fru things these days...so the pink with "butiful" flowers and ruffles on it was just her thing :)

And here is Jocie's. About 7 or so months ago we decided to move Jocie's toddler bed into a corner of the office b/c those two sharing a room- esp. when it was time to sleep- just wasn't cutting it :) Well, it has become a permanent thing for now, thus, Jocie's bedding matches the office decor :) She LOVES the black & white polkadots and the fact that it matches her "wittle baby tiger" :)

Well, there ya have it folks....my babies are in forever big girl beds. It just doesn't seem possible!

We had the girls birthday party at the park again this year. The weather was perfect! They requested a Ariel (Little Mermaid) party...so that is what they got :) Gigi got them these adorable Ariel outfits to wear to their party. They were super pumped :)
