The girlies took an art class this fall one day a week at the Mobile Museum of Art. They are really into drawing, coloring, painting, etc, so I thought they would really enjoy it. They went over all the beginning basics and fundamentals of art. They LOOOOOOOVED it. At the end of the 8 weeks they had a reception at the museum where all of their classes' artwork was displayed and then each child got up IN FRONT OF EVERYONE and "talked" about their artwork (i.e. their art teacher asked them questions about their art, etc and they answered :). I was curious to see how the girls would do in front of a crowd of people they didn't know. To my surprise they actually talked and interacted really well with their teacher. IT WAS PRECIOUS. It was like their first ever presentation!!! ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! They are GROWING UP!!!!!!!! (tear, tear, tear.....)
Here is their artwork....Gabbie's is on the left and Jocie's is the column on the right.....
Self-portraits :)
Gabbie's Giraffe
Jocie's Giraffe
Pumpkin patches, fruit from different textures, water color.....
Gabbie went first....her favorite was her self-portrait :)
Her teacher asked her to describe the difference between a landscape and a portrait....and SHE DID!?!?
Her teacher asked her how much she thought she could sell her artwork for......she said $1 :)
Jocie's turn! Her favorite artwork was her "draw a favorite picture of something you do at home"....Her's was titled, "Mondays at my Home". She had drawn our house, our yard, and our flower beds. When her teacher asked her why she picked a "Monday", she said, "it's my favorite day because my whole family is there". Awwwwwww. Shane takes off on Mondays. Totally made sense. I cried. She LOOOOOOOVES her daddy :)
She said she could sell her artwork for $5 :)
Giving the crowd a final grin before going back to her seat.....
Standing in front of their master pieces :)
Their art classmates and teachers.....
They will start back again in January. They can't wait :)
