The first weekend in October, we loaded up the sexy van and headed to Greenville, South Carolina for our friends', John and Sandy's, wedding. They were both classmates with Shane at seminary and asked him to marry them. What an incredible honor! We made a couple of stops along the way to lesson the length of car screaming we had to endure during the long drive :)
We drove to Montgomery and stayed the night with our fabulous friends from college, Blake and Megan, and their 3 girls. My girls were in HEAVEN when they walked into their house and saw this.....a big playroom FULL of girl stuff....needless to say we had a tough time getting them to go to bed that night because they were having so much fun!
Gabbie LOVES to "cook"....it was so cute how she put the oven mitten on before she opened the stove...guess she has seen me do that....
Dinner's ready!
Megan, Lily, Maddie, Gabbie, and Jocie. Their oldest, Emma Kate, had already gone to school that morning....
It was SO great seeing y'all! Thanks for letting us stay!!
Our next stop was Clarkesville, GA at GiGi and HayHay's house. They were going to keep the girls while Shane and I went up for the wedding (YAY!). When we got there, GiGi had fun pumpkin baskets full of all kind of goodies for the girls.....
They are SO cool with their shades on..... :)
After they invaded their pumpkin baskets, GiGi and HayHay took the girls out to the garage for one more "little" surprise......
YES....princess 4-wheelers! They went crazy!!
GiGi giving Gabbie driving lessons :)
Shane and I headed up to Greenville early the next morning for the rehearsal. It was a beautiful drive (and quiet :). John and Sandy were getting married at The Cliffs. It was this AMAZING chapel on top of this mountain that overlooked sheer beauty! The pics can give you somewhat of an idea, but they still don't do it justice.....
Ummmmm.....hello?!?! SO pretty!!
wow.....
Inside the chapel....
Me & Shane with the Bride & Groom!!
Sandy & John didn't have any "attendants" stand up with them on stage at their wedding. Instead, they had a small wedding and everyone that was invited to the wedding represented their wedding party. It was really sweet. Sandy did give some of her closest friends and those that helped with the wedding these really cool monogrammed aprons.....Thanks Sandy!
We got to stay with some of our friends, the Adams, while we were in Greenville. They were former students at South years ago and now they live in Greenville where J.D. is completing his residency. It was SO great seeing you guys!!! Thanks again for letting us stay with you!
The wedding ceremony......
Look at this view!!!
Here are all of Shane's (and Sandy & John's) seminary classmates that were able to make the trip up for the wedding...
We love you guys SO much! Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your journey and your amazing wedding weekend!!
Sandy is an AMAZING friend. During seminary, for every single classmate's birthday, she would make them their favorite cake and bring it to class. Well, Shane's birthday was a few days after John and Sandy's wedding, and during ALL the crazy stuff that goes on before and during a wedding, Sandy still managed to remember Shane's birthday was coming up that week and brought a vanilla birthday cupcake (her wedding cake was chocolate and Shane is deathly allergic to chocolate) and a card to the reception and gave it to Shane and sang happy birthday to him. Who does that? During THEIR wedding? Like I said....she is an AMAZING friend!
Signing the marriage license.....
After the wedding, we headed back to Clarkesville to pick up the girls. Jocelyn insisted that Daddy wear her "pupple" hat while he gave her a breathing treatment :)
The brotha's....
Eating breakfast with the fam before we hit the road for the LONG and LOUD trip back to Mobile....please look at Jocelyn's cheese face. She absolutely cracks me up!
The next post will be a peek into what the girls did while we were away at the wedding....they had just a little bit of a good time.... :)

I am so glad that you got to stay with us! I wish we could have seen you guys a lot more. Next time you come up this way, you will definitely have to bring the girls so they can play with our kiddos.
