Josh & Karrie getted hitched in San Fran!! FUN TIMES!! (Day 1)

A couple of weeks ago we hopped on another plane to fly to San Fransisco for Karrie and Josh's wedding. We actually got to fly out on Wed night so we were going to have a couple of days to explore San Fran before the wedding festivities began. Neither one of us had ever been to San Fransisco so we were super excited. HayHay and Gigi came to Mobile to keep the girls for us (THANK YOU!).

Here we are in Gulfport waiting for our flight....
Colleen was also in the wedding. She was able to come out a couple of days early as well to site-see.
Our plane in Atlanta was SUPER delayed. We had to hang out in the Atlanta airport for hours....which gave the spray tans (my first one EVER) that Colleen and I got time to marinate and REALLY start to show :) Ummmm...please look at how much darker her face is in the picture below compared to the picture above...hilarious.
We didn't arrive in San Fran until like 2:30am there (which was 4:30am back in Alabama). We were deliriously tired. We went to the bathroom on our way to baggage claim and saw HOW DARK ORANGE our faces looked, especially Colleens :). She then pushes her jacket sleeve up and sees this!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! Spray tan nightmare!! Mine was pretty bad as well, but wasn't near as noticeable as hers since she is a bit more pasty white than I am naturally :)...Needless to say, the striped spray tan was the joke of the entire weekend!
We got to stay with Karrie at her and Josh's new apartment. When we woke up the next morning the weather was PERFECT....sunny, 68 degrees, ZERO humidity. It was awesome. Here is colleen checking off one of the items on her bucket list....to swear a snuggie. Nice.
We headed out to begin our site-seeing adventures for the day. UMMMM...this is the view near Karrie's apartment.....what?!?!
Golden Gate Bridge in the distance....
Downtown.....
Precious Karrie :)

We took the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) into the city....
Not sure what this was....but it was cool looking :)
We went to lunch with some of Shane's classmates from seminary that have planted a church and counseling center in downtown San Fransisco. It was SO great seeing them and catching up! They took us to this amazing Thai restaurant....YUMMY.
After lunch we took a cab over to the Golden Gate Park and the Conservatory of Flowers. VERY pretty.....

Very interesting trees....
Japanese gardens....

Since we were in the Golden Gate Park.....we just assumed that the Golden Gate Bridge wasn't too far away. We looked at a map and figured out which direction to start walking towards the bridge. We walked and walked and walked. I do need to mention that NONE of us really dressed in good walking attire. I mean Shane had on jeans and casual dress shoes on for crying out loud :). After we had walked FOREVER we finally decided to stop and ask someone how far it was to the bridge. WELL.....it was only 6 MORE MILES....what??!?!? SO, we decided the best option would be to hop on a bus rather than continue walking forever in very uncomfortable shoes and clothes. So we found a bus stop and waited for the right one to come by. When it finally did we went to get on it and then realized that it only took cash....and of course not one of us had any change or cash on us. Nice. We looked for an ATM but could find none. SOOOOO, we decided that we don't get to come to San Fran every day so we might as well keep walking, enjoy the scenery and keep reminding ourselves of the goal at the end....the Golden Gate Bridge. I think Shane hated me in his heart a little bit over the next hour and a half :) Our walk did provide some cool scenery though....

Fun townhouses....

Shane and Colleen HATIN life at the moment :)
Cool cemetery...
Taking a break....

Alcatraz.... SO wish we could have taken a tour...that would have been way cool...
