Greater Gulf State Fair

Shane and I have lived in Mobile for 12 years (well, actually, 10 I guess since we were in Orlando the past 2 years) and we have never been to the fair here. The fairgrounds are even located about 1 mile from our house. I guess we just never had a desire to go until this year, mainly because we thought the girls would just love it.....and oh how they did!

They still weren't sure if they were excited about our adventure yet.....

On their first ride, they were a bit nervous but after a few minutes, they started smiling and asking for more....

The petting zoo was a big hit (well, at least for Gabbie). She actually really amazed us at the fair. She has always been our more timid child, but as of late, it's like her and Jocelyn have switched places. Gabbie LOVED letting all the animals eat right out of her hand. Jocelyn liked observing the animals from a distance :)

Shane trying to get Jocelyn to feed a baby goat....she declined....

This is the closest she ever got....

First roller coaster ride ever....Gabbie was a bit nervous :) By the end, though she was holding up both of hands and laughing!

Look at this face!! Jocelyn was way more optimistic about the roller coaster than Gabbie in the beginning....however, by the end, she was ready to be done with the roller coaster forever :)

This pic is hilarious to me.....I mean, seeing Shane riding a bumble bee may be one of the funnier things I've seen....

"Patiently" waiting to ride dumbo :)

Oh my goodness....this face!
Gabbie was fearless the whole evening. She wanted to ride everything there. Jocelyn had a blast as well, but she was alot more picky about what rides she wanted to ride. She would simply say "not this one" when we asked her if she wanted to ride one. It's just funny. I would have totally thought it would have been the other way around. I guess Gabbie is our "dare-devil" at the moment :)

Gabbie begged to get in the cage with this enormous pig and all her baby piggies....
Jocelyn actually touched the big piggy's ear. The only reason she did this was because she convinced that the pig was a real-life Olivia (you know that show on Nick Jr. about the pig named Olivia....Jocie is currently OBSESSED with Olivia).
We met up with our friends, John and Ariel, and their two boys, Jake and Blake. Here is Ariel, Jake, Gabbie, and Shane about to ride the roller coaster again....

Baby Blake...the most laid-back, quiet baby I have EVER been around. It is beyond my comprehension to have a child like this.... :)

Dinner: Corndogs from the fair....you just can't get anymore nutritious than that!!

The three amigos first ride all by themselves!! They LOVED driving the car and beeping the horn a zillion times! Too cute!

From then on, they wanted to ride all the ride by themselves....We were fine with that!

This one cracks me up....

Of course we had to end the night with icecream. Nothing like stuffing them with sugar before you put them to bed...that always works well :)

First trip to the fair was definitely a success. We will be back next year for sure. Better start saving now....that place is a money making machine!!
