Colleen is one of my dearest friends. She came to South Alabama all the way from Canada many moons ago to play on the women's volleyball team. I remember meeting her when she was a freshman. We just clicked. I've had the awesome privilege of watching her come to know Christ, play volleyball for four years, and develop an awesome friendship with her. She is amazing. She is hilarious. She loves Jesus. And she is a Canadian married to one of the southernest (pretty sure that's not a word) country boy I know, Jason. It's just SO funny. I remember her saying way back when she was a freshman that she didn't see how anyone could date, much less marry any of these southern, country, redneck boys down here. And now she lives in a self-built log cabin out in the middle of nowhere Mississippi where they raise chickens and plant vegetable gardens on their land. It is awesome. I love their story. The Lord is just so funny to bring these two together!
Colleen & Jason came over to our house for dinner recently. She brought Shepherd's Pie (made from deer meat, of course :). It was super yummy. After dinner we watched some American Idol auditions. Fun times :)
His and Her boots! The Canadian has SO turned country :)
She also made this AMAZING blueberry/blackberry pie (from scratch). It was SOOOOO fabulous...
