Last weekend while we were in Jay we took the girls to the Peanut Festival. I remember YEARS ago when it first started and how small it was. I haven't been in forever and I was amazed at how much it had grown. There were tons of booths and vendors there, tons of farming equipment and a farming museum, an enormous amount of fun activities for the kiddos, live music, and of course, lots of food.
Here the girls are on a really old model of a John Deere tractor...
They saw the enormo slide when we were parking and couldn't wait to get on it...I think they went just a bit faster down it than they had expected (especially the Gabster :)
There was a "baby slide" next to it that Jocie wanted to try out...
Landon joined in on the fun as well :)
Then it was back to the "willy willy big slide". Here are Ashton and Landon on their first trip down...
Jocie went a few more times by herself....one time down at warp speed was enough for Gabs :)
While Jocie was sliding, Gabbie and Daddy were petting a baby horsie :) Gabbie LOVES animals. Every single time she sees one or pets one she asks if she can bring it home with her...
Checking out all the booths....
PawPaw and Shane took the grand kids on a hayride.
Gabbie and daddy waiting to go....
PawPaw and Jocie....
Landon decided to sit with Jocie and PawPaw....
and Ashton joined Shane and Gabs...
Getting ready to go...
Juliet posing with this beautiful grey Great Dane....yea, she is ONLY like 8 months old. Dang, that's a big dog.
Gabbie and her first EVER cotton candy!
Do not be deceived by this face....she was a huge fan and ate the entire thing in just a few minutes.....that may be why her stomach hurt later on...not sure, though :)
Jocie and her enormo red snowcone....
They had been asking to ride the horsies since we got there, so we waited till the line got a little shorter and they got their wish....
One more time down the willy willy big slide....Gabbie decided she had recovered enough to try it again :)
No words needed here :)
On the way to the car they both wanted the daddy to carry them....yea, that didn't last very long :)
PawPaw stepped in and helped out....
Gabs looks like she is either a). riding a bull or b). waving in the Miss America pageant :)
Stopping to tell Uncle D, Aunt Juliet, Landon and Ashton bye....
Before we headed back to Mobile we stopped by my cousins' for a visit and to meet their new puppy, Tank. He was super cute!
Look at this face!
Being a puppy, Tank was very playful....like REALLY playful and sometimes wanted to like wrestle with the girls and they would FREAK out. Michaela took the girls and Tank outside to run around with strict instructions from her mom to stay in between Tank and the girls so that he wouldn't get overly excited and run and tackle them to the ground....
This seemed to work really well. The girls were fine when Michaela held him so they could play/pet him....
We had been outside for about 15 minutes and everything was fine. Well, we all kind of just "forgot" to watch where Tank was in reference to the girls. They were out in the yard a bit from us and Tank had been sitting under the carport where we were at....well, before we know it, he takes off to go "play" with the girls. The girls see him sprinting toward them and they FREAKED out and started running and screaming....well, this just made Tank think they wanted him to chase them down....we all see this taking place and Michaela sprints off towards them to try to catch Tank before Tank catches the girls....she made an A+ effort, but couldn't quite reach him before he TOOK GABBIE OUT...bless Gabbie's heart....Jocie is just a faster runner than she is, thus Gabbie was the one to get tackled :)....We felt so helpless because it was like watching it in slow motion....you knew what was about to happen, but no one could do anything about it. Honestly, it was really kind of funny watching it all go down, but it was a bit sad at how scared Gabbie was and her face of indescribable fear as Tank clobbered her. She was fine (as in no injuries of any kind) but to say that it took her HOURS to recover is an understatement. She was still re-telling it and crying about it when we got back to Mobile. Poor Tank....he just wanted to play...he was just a little too rough for the girlies :)
After his tackle he had to go in his pen. He was super pumped about that :)
